There is a total neglect of fire safety norms at Cuncolim Municipal Hall Building. The water-holding tanks are empty and self-powered diesel driven fire pump, which can operate even during power failure, is in ruins. The building accommodates an auditorium for 800 people, which would frequently hold dramas, wedding receptions and school annual gatherings.

This neglect by the municipal council even endangers innocent life. The hall was constructed by GSIDC, and subsequently handed over to Cuncolim municipality.

The revenue generated from the hall and other business premises goes into CMC coffers.

This is the responsibility of the council and Chief Officer of CMC to install fire detection and extinguishing system for the auditorium and the building on priority.

Only constructing of the administrative building block is not enough, Cuncolim needs constructive and futuristic Administration too.
