Why should the public be made to run from pillar to post for mistakes of government servants?
Is the public responsible for the government employing incompetent people?
I am the sole owner of some properties and for the past over three decades my name featured in the Form I & XIV column.
Recently I needed a fresh one for a property and was surprised when I downloaded the form online and also obtained a copy issued by the mamlatdar’s office.
Therein my name was split into two, making it into two different persons with two numbers as well. Besides, my second name was converted to surname Fernandes.
Errors in name spellings are understandable, but to make two persons from one without any mutation reference amounts to illegality!
I had the original handwritten form issued by the talathi and sent a person to the Mamlatdar’s office with an application and previous copy for correction. The concerned clerk in-charge, said that to correct it, as per Mamlatdar’s orders, a copy of the manual from Panchayat is needed as well as my letter of authority.
The Mamlatdar also was not available as he has been deputed to Ponda, and is rarely available at Margao.
When the person went to the panchayat, they said the concerned person needs to make an application for the same.
How many trips more trips do I have to make for incompetence of this department and the government?
