PONDA: Pradeep Naik and Vishwanath Dalvi, of the MGP-BJP combine, were elected unopposed as the Chairperson and Deputy respectively for the Ponda Municipal Council by the presiding officer and deputy Collector of Dharbandora Prashant Shirodkar.

PONDA: Pradeep Naik and Vishwanath Dalvi, of the MGP-BJP combine, were elected unopposed as the Chairperson and Deputy respectively for the Ponda Municipal Council by the presiding officer and deputy Collector of Dharbandora Prashant Shirodkar.

Naik was elected PMC Chairperson in 2010.

Ponda MLA Ravi Naik, PMC Chief Officer and Ponda Deputy Collector Navnath Naik, and elected councillors attended the meeting. 

Prior to the election, the oath of office was administered to the councillor by presiding officer. MGP panel head  Ketan Bhatikar claimed that the alliance had the support of all fifteen councillors. 

The newly-elected Chairperson and deputy, while addressing the media said they would implement all promises in their manifestoes and will work for the development of all wards. 

Naik said their first priority would be to clean the gutters and creek.
