PANJIM: In view of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, Electricity Department has directed its officers to make arrangements for maintaining uninterrupted power supply throughout the State so as to not disrupt the live telecast of the matches.

“You are aware that FIFA World Cup 2018 (Russia) commences on 14/06/2018 and closes on 15/7/2018 and there would be a great deal of enthusiasm among football lovers throughout the State to get an uninterrupted view of the matches being telecasted live,” states the circular issued by Chief Electrical Engineer Neelkanth Reddy.

Reddy has also asked all the sub divisional officers to make proper arrangements “round the clock” at substations and the complaint’s section offices to ensure that line staff is fully equipped with the required line material and gear, including a vehicle to quickly attend to power failure complaints between June 14 and July 15.

“All junior engineers may be posted round the clock at each substation including section offices to manage the staff for efficient restoration of power supply and disposal of complaints, ” he added.
