Why Dubai, what about Fatordekars?
While Fatorda MLA and TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai was busy in Dubai, opening a Goa Forward office to target NRI voters in Goa and built his party base his constituency voters are pretty peeved with the notices at the South Goa Collectorate Office of him being unavailable to general public. Fatordekars are unhappy about the fact that the TCP Minister is less available in Xaxti and often meets huge delegations from all over Goa but has lesser time to dedicate to his Fatorda voters and their small issues within the constituency, which has them raising the slogan ‘Fatorda First Please and Dubai later.’
FC Goa v/s Babu Azgaonkar
It’s that time of the year when the ISL season kicks off and everybody wants a pass to the game, especially MLAs and members of their family. MLAs want passes for themselves and their supporters, especially in the VIP stands. But FC Goa Management has started a new policy at the Fatorda stadium at Xaxti. The management has disbursed bulk tickets to Babu Azgaonkar, as he is the Sports Minister and has informed all MLAs and others to collect their tickets from him. So it’s a war of 40 MLAs versus Babu Azgaonkar for passes and tickets.
Clafasio seem to have become stronger in areas of Guirdolim, Chandor and the other side of the Cuncolim constituency. What’s more, the Cuncolim MLA has finally made his presence felt in main Curtorim municipality, leading protests against the Chief Officer of the municipality and demanding his transfer. The Cuncolim MLA after being on a long sabbatical has finally made his presence.
While Reginaldo Lourenco, Philip Neri, Babu Kavlekar and Jennifer Monserrate had made a call of forming a Congress within 24 hours and having failed almost a year back, there has been a certain sense of isolation of Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco. Party MLAs have been grumbling of Lorenco’s attitude to grab the MP ticket, wanting to be party president, taking pot shots of his own MLAs as grandfathers of the party and also his baseless attacks of the government besides his fallout with once friend Vijai Sardesai seems to have left the Curtorim MLA completely isolated in Curtorim and stranded with no development works, while the veteran politician Francisco Sardinha has started making his presence felt within the constituency.
Churchillbab and FC Goa showdown
Churchill brothers is the only Goan club to have not pulled out of the I-League unlike the likes of Dempos, Salgaocars and Sporting Clube de Goa. The Benaulim MLA, who is part of the only family-owned club in Asia has been scrambling with FC Goa for possession of the stadium since both the teams use Fatorda stadium as their home ground. But the Benaulim MLA seems to have the upper hand and has refused to share the ground maintenance cost.
