PANJIM: Writer and former MLA Vishnu Surya Wagh’s wife Aruna, who has been transferred from Goa to Mumbai, has appealed for a withdrawal of the transfer order so as to enable her to take care of her ailing husband who has been bed-ridden for almost two years after suffering a cardiac stroke.

Aruna is employed in the Labour Department of the Union Labour Ministry. She said that she was transferred from Gwalior to Goa in 2014.

“I met Shripad Naik, Narendra Sawaikar; every possible door I have knocked to help me in this condition as I have to take care of my husband and kids, but no one has given me a helping hand,” she said.

She said that she has been targeted ever since Vishnu was elected as MLA and seven increments have been blocked since then.

“I am a patient. I am suffering from thyroid cancer, besides I have to take care of my husband. What has my husband not done for Goa? What has my husband not done for the community? Why are we being troubled?” Aruna questioned.

She along with her children and ailing husband have shifted to a rented premises from the government bungalow.

“Since last April government has not given us any assistance, all bills produced are pending. I have even sold my house for my husband’s treatment,” she lamented.

“I have also sent a representation to the Governor of Goa to stop my transfer,” she added.

Vishnu, who was deputy speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, suffered a severe cardiac arrest and since then has been in bed.
