VASCO: Goa Civic and Consumer Action Network (GOACAN) coordinator Roland Martins on Saturday appealed to the villagers to participate the gram sabhas for good effective growth of the village democracy.
Martins was the resource persons at the public awareness programme on gram panchayats and gram sabhas titled ‘Make Your Voice Heard - Assert Your Rights’ organised by the Chicalim Bio-Crusaders at the Chicalim panchayat hall. The theme of the awareness programme was ‘Knowledge is Empowerment’.
Martins also explained the role of the gram sabha and how the gram sabha is the catalyst of the village development activity.
