MARGAO: The residents of the buildings at Gogol and Vidyanagar in the “enemy property” on Wednesday objected to the survey of the structures.

The team of talathis, mamlatdar and police visited Vidyanagar to survey the buildings and fix a rent as per procedure.

It may be recalled that a large property with several buildings and residential houses was recently declared “Enemy Property” as the owners were Pakistani nationals. After the declaration, several people from houses and buildings approached the court and got a stay on the process. However, due to lockdown and the closure of courts several people claimed that they did not get a fair chance and time to represent their case in the court.

Irvin Rodrigues, a resident said, “The team of talathis and staff from district administration came to survey the structures and fix rent on these properties. The people have vehemently opposed the same. The people said that they haven't got a fair chance and time to represent their case in the court of the land. The team still managed to survey some of the structures.”
