PANJIM: With the COVID-19 cases now reducing in Mangor Hill, Vasco, the number of fatalities seems to be rising in North Goa as Mapusa reported two deaths on Saturday, taking the State’s toll to 72.

As per the DHS news bulletin there were 259 new cases and 207 recoveries. The confirmed cases as on date is 8206, active are 2332 and recovered are at 5802.

“A 70-year-old woman from Khorlim, Mapusa, admitted at Goa medical College Bambolim with co-morbid conditions expired yesterday (Friday). A 40-year-old from Karaswada, Mapusa was brought dead at North Goa district hospital. He was found to be positive in post mortem,” the bulletin said.

On Saturday 3626 samples were collected, of which 2059 are negative and 259 are positive. 1308 reports are awaited. The State has so far tested 1,47,138 people.
