CUNCOLIM: Three family members of the BJP MLA from Salcete tested positive for COVID-19.
The MLA’s wife, son and sister tested positive, while the reports of the other family members came negative.
The infected family members have been shifted to COVID Hospital. It may be recalled that on Wednesday the BJP MLA tested positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the MLA’s staff and supporters heaved a sigh of relief as their test reports came negative.
Many supporters and staff members had come in contact with the MLA.
The Cuncolim Municipal Council (CMC) officials and some councillors, who had also met the MLA had to undergo tests and the results of the same are awaited.
A former MLA, some BJP workers, doctors and staff of health centre too came in contact with MLA, who has been admitted to COVID hospital.
The MLA had met workers at his office to discuss various developmental works and had convened a meeting with CMC officials and councillors last week.
Those who came in contact with the MLA underwent testing at Balli Primary Health Centre (PHC).
Meanwhile, two more positive cases were detected in the Fatorpa Panchayat area taking the tally of cases to 25. All 25 COVID cases in Fatorpa are linked to Ambelim.
Meanwhile, on social media, the MLA issued a video message saying, “A special thank you to all my friends, supporters, well wishers who have stood by me and prayed for my early recovery. By your prayers, I am recovering very fast and hopefully very soon I will be with my people. Do keep me and my family in your prayers. God bless you all. “
