PONDA: Three persons were killed in two separate accidents reported at Savoiverem and Usgao. 

According to police, in the first accident reported at Savoiverem at 3 pm, 

42-year-old driver Vijaykumar Naik lost control over his car at the sharp turn, which went to extreme right side and rammed into a roadside tree. The impact was such that Vijaykumar died on the spot. The other car occupants Prasad Naik and 45–year-old Ramdas Salgaonkar, who sustained injuries, were shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital.

However, Prasad, who sustained serious injuries, succumbed late evening, while Ramdas is undergoing treatment in GMC.

Both Prasad and Vijaykumar were residents of Savoiverem.

Ponda Police conducted the panchanama.

According to Police, Ramdas had arrived in Goa from Karwar to attend the funeral of his relative. 

Since he wanted to leave for Karwar, his relative Prasad and another local Vijaykumar accompanied him to South Goa Collectorate for obtaining a pass. After completing all formalities with regards to obtaining the pass, the three were on their way back to Savoiverem when the accident occurred. 

In the second accident reported at Usgao on Wednesday, a motorcyclist Maruti Mirashi dashed against a 65-year-old pedestrian Kadaksing Udaysingh from Sai Nagar, Usgao. The impact was such that Kadaksing died on spot.
