PANJIM: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho flagged off four vehicles to be used as ‘enforcement vehicles’ by the Transport Department outside the Assembly complex.
Senior dignitaries of the State government were present.
Godinho said the department did not have dedicated vehicles to carry out various enforcement tasks and the present vehicles were used for all purposes.
He said these vehicles have been acquired using road safety funds and another four will be acquired soon. He said this was the case for the procurement of speed safety guns.
He said the department is looking at such types of equipment to reduce and prevent accidents in Goa.
