CUNCOLIM: Sixty seven nominations were found to be valid for the Cuncolim Municipal Council (CMC) elections after one form was rejected and 18 others were dumped being duplicate forms filled by the candidates.

Shravani Kambli’s nomination was rejected as she had attached a caste certificate issued by the Government of Maharashtra and not of Goa.

Two general category wards, ward no. 2 and 9, have the highest number of nominations as 10 people have filed their nominations in each of them while in ward no. 13, which also falls in general category would have straight fight between two persons.

Ward no. 3 which is reserved for women has seven candidates while ward no. 5 which is general category got 6 nominations. While the general ward no. 12 has five nominations, there are four nominations each in ward No. 1 which is reserved for women, ward No. 4 which is reserved for ST women and ward No. 6 reserved for OBC.

Ward no. 7 reserved for women, ward no. 8 reserved for OBC, ward No. 10, 11 and 14 are general category have received three nominations each.
