PANJIM: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday opened a new office in Shiroda as the party finds huge support in the wake of Arvind Kejriwal's employment guarantee. The office was inaugurated by Sr vice-president Mahadev Naik.

“The AAP has been getting support from all sections of Goan society in its campaigns. Residents of Shiroda will now easily be able to reach out to the party leadership via this office”, said the party in a press release.

“The opening of the office comes in the background of AAP national convenor and Delhi chief minister's second guarantee on employment. The AAP has been aggressively campaigning in Shiroda where they visited residents door to door to share Kejriwal's electricity guarantee. During the second wave the party was also the only organisation seen helping people by providing them ration door to door”, AAP added.

“At the end of August AAP had held a large public meeting at Shiroda where the residents shared how the BJP government failed them and common Goenkars. Shiroda residents have reacted extremely positively to Kejriwal's employment guarantee as many youth of Shiroda feel that they have been cheated by their MLAs. They look forward to the transparency that Kejriwal will bring to job allocation and the 80% reservation of jobs for Goans”, the party stated.

"People in Shiroda are joining and supporting AAP in large numbers. Many of them are excited by employment guarantee as the youth has been cheated by sitting MLAs and other political parties" said Naik. "The BJP is assuring only 10,000 jobs of which they won't even fulfil 1000. All the youth know that this is just a jumla”, alleged Naik.

He further said that AAP will bring an end to nepotism in government jobs in Goa and the jobs will be made available to the common man.
