PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa said the party is gearing up for a long haul in its bid to change politics in Goa.

AAP State convener Elvis Gomes said the party is readying to continue its mission to change politics and defeat the corrupt political scenario in the State which is only for power.

“AAP, in the coming days and months, will reach out to the people directly to achieve this mission,” he said.

At a nearly 5-hour-long meeting on Thursday, chaired by Gomes, candidates, team members and volunteers reaffirmed their commitment to the AAP mission to change politics, fight corruption and restore the right of the people to be consulted on governance and decision making at various levels.

The meet also noted the positive feedback AAP was getting in light of the post-poll developments. “The unholy and pre-poll ideology defeating tie-ups entered into by the BJP, Goa Forward, MGP who had broken away from BJP and others who fought bitterly against each other, have vindicated AAP’s consistent campaign that Goa’s career politicians are all hand-in-glove for the sole aim to capture power and loot the State,” AAP said.

Speaking to the media Gomes said the party will soon launch itself in mission mode to intervene, confront and plead on behalf of Goa’s people with the government and the authorities on public services delivery, corruption in big-ticket projects and policies as well as smaller micro matters at the city/town/village level from ground zero.
