PANJIM: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has slammed the government for capping exorbitant rates of private hospitals that would be treating COVID-19 patients. The party has accused the government of looting Goans at a time when several families are struggling to make their daily ends meet.

“How do you expect a common Goan to get himself treated at such a high price? Goans are struggling to meet their daily needs and these rates for hospital beds in private hospitals shows that the Sawant Sarkar's intent is to loot common Goans. The government has absolutely no interest to stand with Goans in these difficult times,” Aam Aadmi Party  spokesperson Rahul Mhambre said.

He claimed that Goans are suffering financially, health-wise and are also forced to sleep on the floor of GMC. Yet, Mhambre said that Sawant-led government and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane continue to save face by blaming Goans.

“They are testing the patience of every Goan who has till now stood by the government,” he added further questioning the CM on pointing fingers at the people for delay in getting treatment for COVID-19 at hospitals.
