PANJIM: A couple of days after different groups protested outside the Mormugao Dy Collector’s office at Vasco over the land acquisition process for double tracking, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers marched to the Chief Minister’s residence on the coal issue and were detained by Goa Police.

AAP State convenor Rahul Mhambre and several AAP volunteers were detained by police for protesting outside the official residence of CM Pramod Sawant at Altinho.

AAP volunteers shouted slogans against the Goa government’s moves to “convert Goa in to coal hub” and demanded a meeting with CM Sawant on the issue.

The leaders had carried a bag of coal to the CM saying it was gift from AAP to the CM. “If he can gift coal dust to 15 lakh Goans why is he not accepting our gift,” Mhambre asked.
