PONDA: After a long wait of 20 years, the Velop Wada, Kavlem locals were finally relieved as the government has constructed a permanent Crematorium shed.
Kavlem Sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar, Kavlem ZP Ganapat Naik, ZP Damodar Naik, Bandora panch member Waman Naik, senior citizen Naryan Naik besides panch members of Kavlem panchayat and locals were present for inauguration of crematorium.
Sarpanch Kavlekar thanked ZP Ganpat Naik for taking using the ZP funds for constructing the same.
“Availability of land was the biggest issue for two decades, however locals landowners including mutt cooperated and handed over land for crematorium purpose”, Kavlekar said.
“Development works are only possible if landlords and locals support development works for public interest. The crematorium site was identified at one location however due to some difficulties finally it was constructed at another location”, he added.
