Aldona MLA’s son surrenders after his BMW kills 26-yr-old girl

The deceased girl’s younger sister injured in the accident; Angry Belgaum locals set the car on fire

MAPUSA: Kyle Ticlo, the eldest son of Aldona MLA Glenn Ticlo, reportedly knocked down two sisters on the National Highway 4A in Belgaum, Karnataka on Monday evening. Police officials informed that the victim who died was around 26 years old, while the sister who has been injured in the incident is two years younger than the deceased. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver, Belgaum police said.

Speaking to Herald the Gandhi Nagar PI, BR Gaddekar informed that the incident occurred at 5.15 pm on Monday on the National Highway near the fruit market in Belgaum.

“After the accident took place, Kyle, helped to take both the victims to the hospital after which he surrendered. The accused is in our custody and an FIR in this incident has been lodged. We are yet to ascertain the exact age of the victims. Further investigation is in progress,” PI Gaddekar said.

Angry locals reportedly damaged and set the BMW car on fire. 

Sources close to the Ticlo family informed Herald that the father left to Belgaum late on Monday evening to help his son.

From the two pedestrians, one was killed after being hit by the MLA’s 11-month old BMW 530 D while the other sister sustained injuries in the accident.

An FIR has been lodged in this regard under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 279 (rash driving) of the IPC.
