MARGAO: In the famous shoot out case, in which Amar Naik of Vaddem-Vasco was murdered, a charge sheeted has the filed against three alleged accused Shailesh Gupta (29) and Shivam Singh (22), both natives of Uttar Pradesh and Ravi Shankar Yadav (30), native of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh who were arrested by Vasco Police in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Vasco, on Thursday.
At present, all three alleged accused are in judicial custody.
The police investigation has revealed that Yadav, currently residing at Anjuna, had allegedly hired two contract killers namely Shailesh and Shivam, both natives of Uttar Pradesh to kill Amar. The two assailants, both from Mumbai and natives of Uttar Pradesh, were arrested after committing the crime. During interrogation, the contract killers broke down and led the police to Yadav.
Vasco Police have recovered two country-made pistols and cartridges used in the crime. The police are trying to ascertain the motive behind the planned murder as they suspect a love affair behind Naik’s killing. Police sources said the girl’s brother was opposed to the love affair between his sister and the victim, as they belonged to different religions.
