Arambol-Korgao bypass hotmix delayed

Team Herald

ARAMBOL: The much awaited asphalting work of Arambol-Korgao bypass road is believed to be stuck in 'political red-tapism', rendering the motorists especially students and parents helpless. The road from Palyem Bhom to Korgao is in bad shape and full of potholes. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has requested the PWD officials to immediately issue orders to repair and hotmix the road on priority.

The condition of the road had worsened before the last monsoon, and now it has become very difficult for driving.  There is primary, secondary, higher secondary school and a college along with a nursing college in Arambol. The students and parents are facing a lot of hardship while travelling on this road.

When contacted, MLA Jeet Arolkar said that the administrative work has been completed and the work will start soon. He also admitted that the work was delayed. He had earlier promised to improve the condition of the road in the area soon after the monsoon.
