PORVORIM:  Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced in the Legislative Assembly that Goa Online Portal services that are currently free will now be charged a nominal fee of Rs 20.

He also said that the Guaranteed Time-Bound Delivery of Public Services Act will be amended to penalize staff who fail to clear applications within the stipulated time. Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas tabled the resolution urging the government to ensure accountability and effective grievance redressal mechanisms.

Sawant promised to review the process on Monday and take corrective action by increasing the number of data entry staff for uploading documents.

The opposition criticized the government over the poor quality of services, despite repeated promises in every Assembly session for improvement.
