PONDA: Shiroda BJP Block Committee President Suraj Naik has asserted that the newly joined Subash Shirodkar would win the seat for saffron party.

Commenting on the latest political developments in the State, Naik said that Shirodkar had won the last assembly election on Congress ticket with around 11500 votes, while BJP had gained over 65000 votes and MGP around 6000 votes. Now in the changed scenario, Shirodkar would get more votes.

Further the popular Ladli Laxmi, housewives dole and senior citizens pension have made BJP popular among voters in Shiroda, he said.

“There are Bhandari, ST, Catholic and Muslim communities in Shiroda.  Subash won the seat with 11,500 votes and even if some Congress votes are excluded, they it will be compensated with BJP traditional vote share. Hence, we are not worried about winning the election. We are ready to face the challenge of MGP and Congress candidates,” he said.
