Babu endorses the statement; Monserrate says BJP alliance partners will be with Congress after counting of votes
PANJIM: Congress Panjim candidate Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate on Thursday assured the people of the Capital city that after counting day on May 23, Congress will form the government in the State with the allies who are currently with the BJP.
Speaking at an election meeting in Mala, Monserrate said, “On May 24 there is going to be a Congress government. Today where are their alliance partners? Nobody can see them. All alliance partners will be with us on May 24.”
Stating that till date he has never had to bring any political leader from outside to seek votes, he said that BJP candidate Sidharth Kuncalienker had to bring leaders from outside despite having being MLA twice.
“The Chief Minister is seeking votes. He has been coming to Panjim to campaign and promising the people of Panjim. I want to tell him, CM, you will not be in the chair on May 24,” he stated.
Appealing for a thumping victory for Monserrate, Leader of the Opposition Chandrakant (Babu) Kavalekar said, “People of Panjim need to make Babush victorious and as he has said, with his win we will see a Congress government in Goa.”
