PANJIM: The barges, ferry boats, fishing trawlers, cruise vessels and others are warned against navigating in River Mandovi and Zuari in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Goa on December 11.

In a notice, the Captain of Ports has informed that VVIP will visit Goa in view of the inauguration of Mopa International Airport and the closing ceremony of the 9th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) and Arogya Expo, on December 11. As such, all owners/masters of the barges, passengers launches, ferry boats, fishing trawlers and operators of the mechanised and non-mechanised crafts, including the tourist boats, cruise boats, etc. are warned not to navigate in the Mandovi River beyond the western side of the Mandovi Bridges and in the Zuari River on  December 11.

“Violations of the above will be viewed seriously,” the CoP warned.
