PANJIM: The Gomantak Bhandari Samaj has condemned the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) leadership for expelling former Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar for six years from the party for alleged anti-party activities.

The Samaj has termed the suspension of Mamledar as highhanded approach MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar and PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar.

In a press note issued here, Samaj President Ashok Naik said that Mamledar has been very vocal in pointing out the wrongs within the party.

“This action of Deepak Dhavalikar points to the fact that the oldest Political Party of Goa has been reduced to an autocratic family-run business. If anyone questions the wrong actions, he is sidelined and rewarded with suspension,” Naik stated in the press release.

Admitting that MGP has normally been supportive of the Bahujan Samaj, Naik said, “But this action is against the interest of Bahujan Samaj which firmly stands by our leader Mamledar.”

He urged all the members of the Samaj to boycott the “selfish, self-centred and family oriented” Dhavalikar brothers.
