Bicholim police book Panjim resident for cheating

BICHOLIM: The Bicholim police have registered a case against Sairaj Delvi of Panjim for allegedly cheating a woman from Sankhali to the tune of Rs 18.99 lakh by giving threats of fear of Delhi police.

The woman hailing from Ambegal-Pale Sankhali in her complaint has stated that the accused took Rs 25,000 and failed to repay the amount within the stipulated period thereby cheated the complainant.

The complainant has stated that from April 2024 to May 22, 2024, the accused by giving threats of fear of Delhi police and extorted Rs 4.75 lakh on different account through GPay by hand cash and gold ornaments i.e. a mangalsutra weighing 40 gram, gold bangles, gold chains, a pair of earrings, necklace, finger rings, all amounting to Rs 18.99 lakh.   

Further the accused threatened the complainant with dire consequences to kill.

The Bicholim police have registered the case under Sections 420, 384 and 506 (ii) of IPC and PSI Sunil Patil is conducting investigations.
