PANJIM: Admitting that the arithmetic went wrong for BJP in the Bihar elections, Goa BJP unit on Friday said that the mood elevator that worked in Bihar during the recent general election, will have no impact in Goa.
“The arithmetic went wrong for BJP in Bihar but that does not mean it will repeat itself in Goa. People of Goa know the difference between the two governments. The mood elevator for Congress will have no impact here,” BJP vice president Dr Wilfred Mesquita told media persons.
Mesquita said the party (Congress) will find no alliance partners and hence have decided to go alone for 2017 elections. “It is high time that Congress takes an oath of repentance. This will give the party the possibility to have some alliance partners,” he said.
He was pointing out to the Congress State President Luizinho Faleiro’s statement that party will go alone for 2017 general elections and also on the recent move by independent MLAs including Vijai Sardesai and Rohan Khaunte to form a Mahagatbandhan on the lines of the Bihar experiment.
BJP MLA, Dr Pramod Sawant, highlighting the infrastructural and developmental projects sanctioned by the Narendra Modi government to Goa threw an open challenge before the Congress to point out even one major project that he former UPA government bestowed to the State.
