PANJIM: Boriechi Igorz Udorgotichim Pavlam Marta... (Borim Marches on...), a book in Konkani on the history of Borim Church, was released by Dr (Fr) Nelson Sequeira, Dean of Studies(Theology), Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol, at St Francis Xavier's Church, Borim.
Fr Sequeira congratulated Fr Manuel Gomes for coming out with a book of his research work on the history of the church.
This is the author’s 20th book published on the occasion of his 40th priesthood anniversary.
The book containing 10 chapters, gives glimpse of the history of the Borim village, the Church, the parish priests, who worked in the parish, priests and nuns from the parish, pastoral work including various movements and associations of the parish, experience of the parishioners and other aspects. Different documents are mentioned in the appendix.
Fr Gomes has to his credit 15 books in Konkani and 4 in English.
Most of the books are based on research study, which include From Roots to Fruits, Bhagivontachim Bhagi Pavlam (3 volumes) and others. He was awarded by Dalgado Konknni Academy, V Ixtt, Tomas Stephens Konknni Kendr and others.
