British national held on charge of possessing drugs worth Rs 15 lakh

PANJIM: The Crime Branch of Goa police have arrested a 52-year-old British national for allegedly possessing drugs worth Rs 15 lakh in the international market.

According to the police, the accused John Parkinson, resident of Camberwell, London, SES 9QR, UK, and presently residing at a house behind Lady of Miracle Church Baddem, Anjuna, Bardez, was caught red-handed after a raid was conducted by Police Inspector Narayan Chimulkar and his team on Monday near Vagator football ground. 

The accused was allegedly found in the possession of 190 LSD perforated papers, weighing 1.914 grams, and 4.353 grams LSD liquid, all worth Rs 15 lakh approximately in international markets along with one motorcycle and two mobile phones.

A case under section 22 (c) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDS) Act 1985 has been registered at the Crime Branch Police Station at Ribandar and further investigation is under progress, police said.
