Says KTC has performed well in many areas and will still try to improve taking all suggestions of CAG

VASCO: Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) Chairman Carlos Almeida has said that the State carrier cannot be compared with the corporations of other States due to various factors and ground situation.

He was reacting to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) performance report which put KTC in red figure.

However, he said, KTC would still try to improve taking all suggestions of CAG positively.

“When I took over KTC, we were in real losses as our buses were not in condition; we had problem with staffs, contractors including tyre, fuel and spare parts. However, today all these issues have been resolved and even the financial position has improved,” he said.

“This year, KTC had to face depreciation of around Rs 11 crore (20 percent for five years) on 254 buses, which is a major factor that is reflecting in the financial position and moreover on performance of KTC,” he said.

Almeida said that the performance of KTC is slowly improving, and the CAG report has only pointed out some observations on tyres, staff and route management.
