CURCHOREM: Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC) will not allow any fish mongers and vegetable vendors to seat on the street or passages of the building from June 1.

During the recent council meeting it was decided to direct all the fish mongers and vegetable/fruit vendors to occupy their places in the renovated fish market and vendors zone created in the GSUDA complex respectively.

“Chief Officer Ajay Gaude has already instructed our municipal inspector not to allow any mongers or vendors to occupy streets or passages but direct them to seat in their respective places. We have built 36 platforms in the fish market and preference will be given to those who were selling fish in the old shed,” informed Chairperson Balkrishna (Pinty) Hodarkar.

It may be recalled that after granting relaxation to sell fish during the lockdown period, many fish mongers were selling fish along the streets.
