CURCHOREM: The first ordinary meeting of Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC) was held on Monday.

According to the CMC President Uttam Sinai Hodarkar the meeting was called to discuss the work to be taken up on priority basis including monsoon related issues. The sopo collection contract which expired on March 31 was extended for one more month.

“We have resolved to tender the sopo contract and also float a tender for garbage collection," said Hodarkar.

In another decision the council has decided to auction the maintenance and operation of gymnasium of municipality in Karriamoddi which was inaugurated a few months back.

"Any municipal property cannot be given directly to any private party for any purpose including its maintenance therefore the council has decided to give it after auction," said Chief Officer Ajay Gaude.

In response the DMA has issued notices and directed CCMC to decide on the No Confidence Motion on April 16.
