MARGAO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has issued a challenge to an open debate on the CAA issue for Goa while reassuring that none of the Goans will be affected by the Act.

The Chief Minister said that no one has the guts to come for an open debate with him on CAA. "I can proudly say today that none of the Goans will be affected due to CAA.”

"Some politicians have decided to divide Goans on the basis of religion and caste and are doing it from behind," said Sawant while claiming that Goa is today developing in all its force due to the religious harmony.

"Have we forgotten our brothers and sisters who are facing persecution in the Islamic countries? For Indians no Muslims of India will be affected and if someone is trying to divide on religious lines, the Government won't stay quiet and will take action," said Chief Minister.
