PONDA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday inaugurated the 41st Samraat Sangeet Sammelan organised by Samraat Sangeet Academy (SSA) and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), which will end on Sunday, at Kranti Maidan, here.
While addressing the audience, the Chief Minister said, “Music culture began and developed in the State from the temple premises. While the government provided the infrastructure, it is the cultural organisations that developed and promoted the music culture.”
On the occasion, eminent folklorist and Padmashri Vinayak Khedekar was feliciated by the Chief Minister.
Present on dais were President of SSA Dr Prafulla Hede, Secretary Sandip Nigalye, Adv Avdoot Salatri, Uday Kudalkar and Sudarshan Shetty regional officer of ICCR.
