PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has once again ruled out the possibility of any reshuffle in his cabinet to accommodate the new entrant.

On September 14, eight Congress MLAs defected to BJP by merging the Congress legislative wing into the saffron fold. There were rumours of possible cabinet berths for two-three newly joint MLAs.

On Saturday late evening, BJP held its core committee meeting to finalize candidates for the upcoming by-polls in three Zilla Panchayat (ZP) constituencies.

Speaking to a media person post-meeting, Sawant said that no discussion took place on cabinet reshuffle in the meeting. “There is nothing as the such…meeting was on ZP election…there is no cabinet reshuffle,” he said.

MLAs -- Digambar Kamat, Rajesh Faldesai, Aleixo Sequeira, Michael Lobo, Delilah, Sankalp Amonkar, Kedar Naik and Rudolf Fernandes joined BJP last month.

Later, BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade also said there was no discussion on the cabinet reshuffle. “There are no plans for a cabinet reshuffle after Dussehra or Diwali,” he said.
