PANJIM: A day after Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo said there would be a cabinet reshuffle soon, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant shot down this claim saying there is no such plan.

Speaking to reporters, Sawant said that neither does he have plans of a Cabinet reshuffle nor has the minister discussed the issue with him.

Lobo, after meeting the Chief Minister on Tuesday, said there was urgent need for a Cabinet reshuffle and that he had discussed this with the CM. However, CM Sawant said no discussion on Cabinet reshuffle took place.

“Minister did not discuss anything with me on reshuffle issue,” he said and added, “The decision on a reshuffle is decided by the party and not the ministers.”

Lobo had said a correction in the cabinet was required as the State will be facing elections for the Goa Legislative Assembly in 2022. “I have requested for a reshuffle, not suggested who all should be dropped from the cabinet. Now it is the prerogative of the Chief Minister to decide who to drop and who to retain. He might even drop me from the cabinet if he feels that I am not performing,” the minister had said.
