MARGAO: Due to increase in COVID cases resulted in indefinitely postponing the elections of Sarzora sarpanch that were scheduled on May 13. The elections could not be held as the two panchayat members have tested positive for COVID.
It may be recalled that Sabita Mascarenhas was ousted as sarpanch at a no confidence motion passed on April 7, and the motion was signed by Tomacina Fernandes and four other panchayat members while Perpetua Mascarenhas stood by Sabita.
Meanwhile, the authorities are yet to decide about the elections of Colva sarpanch even though the sarpanch had resigned in March.
