CURCHOREM: Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral tendered his resignation as a Cabinet Minister on Sunday, causing a wave of disappointment among his supporters and BJP workers in the constituency. The sudden change has left Cabral’s supporters in shock.
The BJP workers from Curchorem, who have been staunch supporters of Cabral, expressed their sadness over the change. However they conveyed their unwavering support for Cabral, emphasising that they will stand by him despite his resignation.
“We are deeply saddened by the resignation of our beloved leader Nilesh Cabral. He has been a pillar of strength for our constituency. However, we want to assure him that our loyalty remains intact, and we will continue to support and stand by him through thick and thin,” said one of the workers.
Despite the disappointment, there is a glimmer of hope among the party workers as they welcome the news of Cabral’s return to the Curchorem constituency. “We are thrilled to know that Cabral will be back in Curchorem. His leadership has been instrumental in the development of our region, and we eagerly anticipate his continued contributions to our community.
He has also assured us to complete all the pending works in the constituency,” added another worker.
It may be recalled that on Sunday, Cabral resigned as minister and was replaced by Nuvem MLA Alexio Sequeira, who was sworn in as a cabinet minister on Sunday evening. Cabral was asked to step down by the party high command, in the interest of the party and to fulfil the commitment of cabinet berth to Sequeira.
