BICHOLIM: A carcass of a porcupine was found in the middle of the road crushed under a vehicle at night while it was trying to cross the road at Pistewada Bordem in Bicholim.
On noticing the carcass middle of the road, some locals kept at the side of the road. It is believed that some vehicle might have crushed it at night when it was trying to cross the road.
“There is no doubt that a vehicle might have crushed the porcupine as the driver might have not seen the animal. In the morning the carcass was found in the middle of the road” a local, Nitin Malgaonkar told.
It may be noted that few months ago a carcass of a Fox was found which was hit by a speeding car at night. “It is just likely that the place is used by the animals to cross the road at night. We urge the people to drive safely so as to protect these animals” Malgaonkar told.
