PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that the Casino Policy and Gaming Commission are in the final stages of consideration.

Following the assurance of newly elected Panjim MLA Babush Monseratte of removal of all casinos within 100 days, the opposition to offshore casinos is back with renewed vigour.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, Sawant said that the casino policy and Gaming Commission is in the final stages of consideration.

"Both the issues need time and cannot be decided arbitarily," he said.

When pointed to attack on MLA and the fracas on Friday at Big Daddy casino, Sawant said he has asked for a report which is expected by evening.

"Nobody can take law in their hands be it casino enployees or elected representatives. Nobody has right. Let me take stock of situation and action would be initiated," he said.
