PANJIM: The State government has ordered shutting casino operations for 24 hours from midnight of October 2, owing to Gandhi Jayanti.
An order by Under Secretary (Home - I) Pritidas Gaonkar said the directions are issued to pay homage and respect to the Father of the Nation.
“...all casino licenses should stop operation of casinos in the State of Goa with effect from 00:00 hours of October 2, 2021 to 00:00 hours of October 3, 2021 for a period of 24 hours on October 2, 2021 in order to pay homage and respect to the Father of the Nation,” the order said.
The State has declared October 2, 2021 as dry day banning sale and consumption of liquor.
