VASCO: Two unidentified thieves targeted a senior citizen at Arrosim and fled with her gold chain on Thursday. Verna police stated that the duo knocked at the door of Lira D’Cruz on the pretext of asking her something, snatched the chain, pushed her and fled from the scene.
Lira then called her son to her rescue who tried to follow the thieves but proved futile as they vanished.
The value of the chain was estimated to around Rs one lakh. A complaint in this regard was filed by Antonio Souza, son of the victim at the Verna Police Station on Friday. The police have registered a case against unknown thieves.
