Benaulim is seeing a good influx of tourists owing to which lot of garbage is being generated which is disposed off in the fields and by the side of pathways.
Further, a lot of building debris is being generated by renovation and construction works being carried out, which too is not sent to a landfill by the builders.
It is requested that the panchayat take strict action against such errant parties. Further, a mandatory ‘disposal of garbage’ clause should be included in the construction licence granted and any flouting of the same should invite penal action.
