Dilapidated and unreadable signage at the SGPDA market complex

Dilapidated and unreadable signage at the SGPDA market complex

Those who frequent the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) market complex, Fatorda will testify to a faded road sign situated between the dry fish section and the fruit section, and not too far away from the RTO offices.

The sign, intended to inform motorists that the street is one-way, has faded and motorists feel emboldened to use the street as a two-way street, instead.

I’am sure many others, who shop at the complex, have experienced tough moments using the said street as inevitably two-wheeler riders and four-wheeler drivers approach from the other end. In the absence of a proper road sign, road bottlenecks are inevitable, dare I say even accidents.

Therefore, I request the concerned authority to take action, by either applying a fresh coat of paint to the existing sign or replace it with a new one, as it concerns public safety, which is of utmost importance.
