Dumping ground for stray dogs

As one climbs the hill from Mapusa and enters Assagao. one sees a board "Welcome to the village of Flowers". But as one travels further inside the village, you find groups of dogs lying on the roads and in open spaces 

These are dogs which are brought from various villages of Goa to the animal rescue centre, situated right behind the Assagao panchayat office, sterilised and left in the village to fend for themselves. These dogs make life of the villagers very difficult to walk around and even driving for two wheelers.

The panchayat office must take remedial action to remove these dogs and bring some sanctity to the village. The village has just become a dumping ground for the stray dogs.
