After the recently concluded Our Lady of Rosary feast at Navelim and the attendant market opposite the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, tonnes of garbage have been left behind by the stall owners, which have turned fetid and putrid after the unseasonal rains. It is not only an eyesore but a health hazard for nearby residents. I request the government to track down the culprits and fine them heavily for turning open land into a trash dump. Also from next year, a security deposit should be collected by the parish office-bearers from prospective stall owners to ensure cleanliness at the culmination of the feast.
