A private illegal road is being constructed in CRZ area within 200 meters from HTL without obtaining single permission from authorities concerned. This is in the property under survey No 14/3 at Velsao, Dando-Mollo, in village Panchayat of Velsao – Pale – Issorssim. Cortalim Constituency. Sarpanch Maria Diana Gouveia has taken proactive measures and issued show cause notices and subsequently STOP WORK Orders couple of times on 17/10/23 and subsequently on 30/01/2024. But the road construction is going on in full swing.
The Deputy Town Planner informed Sarpanch/Secretary that the said property under survey No. 14/3 is coming within 200 meters from Arabian Sea, (NDZ) and hence no constructions / development is permitted without approval from the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority. Further it is verified from their records that no development permission is granted by their office to the builders, therefore it is illegal development, and requested the Panchayat to take immediate action.
But inspite of all these notices and not following Government process and procedures, nothing stopped them from going ahead with the illegal road construction. This is an open violation and no authorities can stop them till today. Therefore we request the authorities to take immediate action and stop this illegal development in (NDZ) at the earliest.
