Curchorem: Some locals from Bebquegal in Curchorem have complained that the road leading from Prashant Theatre to Guardian Angel School was dug and kept without repairs at some places without proper asphalting done for more than six months.

Speaking to media persons, local Councillor Balkrishna Hodarkar said that the public road maintained by PWD was dug by a private mobile company to lay their cables and it did not close the holes properly at many places. These open holes have led to many accidents/falls of two wheelers, especially women riders.

"Students from two local institutions are using this road to go to school. More than six months back the Council had brought this to the notice of the company but they neither repaired it nor bothered to respond," said Hodarkar.

The councillor urged the company's officials and other concerned authorities to take immediate steps to repair the roads before any fatal accident occurs. If they are not filled up, he warned that the Council will be compelled to take legal action against the company.
