Stray cattle overturning garbage-bins that are full of garbage and littering the contents all over the place in search of something to munch has become a common sight in the state. 

The garbage, which is strewn all over the place, is then feasted upon by the stray cattle and stray dogs, who create a further mess. The very purpose of placing the garbage in the bins by the citizens is thereby defeated. 

At Old Goa this problem has been tackled by putting the garbage bins in a metal enclosure as seen in the photograph. 

Other civic bodies and panchayats in the state need to follow the example and provide bin-guards for the garbage bins so that they cannot be overturned by the stray cattle.
